Conveyor rollers coated with MetaLine

IND was contracted to coat a set of thirty conveyor rollers with MetaLine 795, dramatically extending their lifespan and providing key operational advantages.

We worked in collaboration with Global Pumps to provide a highly durable and low friction coating system for an international manufacturer. MetaLine 795 was chosen over traditional rubber lining for the following reasons:

  • Sprayable: Spray application eliminates the need for any lining joints that are common failure points in traditional rubber linings.

  • Fast turnaround: MetaLine’s curing time of under 24 hours allowed for a quick turnaround.

  • Visual wear indication: The use of two distinct coloured coatings provides a visual wear indicator for maintenance teams.

  • Low friction: The final layer of MetaLine 795 applied was a silicon rich coating that creates an extremely smooth, non-stick layer, dramatically reducing debris buildup during operation.

Surface Preparation and Quality Assurance

Spray application

Each roller is rotated at a consistent rate whilst MetaLine 795 is sprayed on at a uniform thickness.

Two distinctly coloured coatings were used to provide a visual wear indicator:

  • Red coating: The first coat was applied in red using the standard MetaLine 795.

  • Green coating: The second coat was applied in green using a silicone rich, low-friction MetaLine 795 used to reduce debris buildup on the rollers during operation.

Curing is extremely quick and the rollers are ready to be returned to service in 24 hours.
